Rantalainen VPN Connection
Technical description
Rantalainen VPN connection is a Site-2-Site IPSec VPN connection between Rantalainen and the customer’s data communications network. Only necessary servers, services, and ports are allowed to access the VPN tunnel.
We build all connections to our customers’ systems as a fixed VPN tunnel as this allows flexible use of the connection for Rantalainen’s various locations as well as for remote work (Rantalainen employees’ SSL VPN use). This minimizes different needs for changes and enables cost savings for our customers when the connection needs to be implemented only once. A fixed connection eliminates the need for various local SSL VPN solutions, the maintenance of which generates costs.
Rantalainen VPN connection set-up:
- We provide the customer with a pre-completed VPN form
- The customer returns the filled form to Rantalainen’s IT person
- Rantalainen and the customer make configurations for their own firewalls
- The functionality of the VPN tunnel is tested and put into service
Implementation of the VPN Connection
All traffic passes through a firewall dedicated to Rantalainen’s customers’ VPN connections, through which the traffic can be centrally managed. This enables a secure entity, flexible response to change situations, and a quick set-up.
Rantalainen VPN connection has been implemented in such a way that possible changes in Rantalainen’s own network do not affect Rantalainen’s VPN connection service.
